Materials and Installation

All of our inlet installation kits are filled with all of the fittings, wire and glue that you will need to install a central vacuum as well as a do-it-yourself instruction guide.

Deciding how many inlets your home needs:

The best way to figure out how many inlets your home will need is by taking a 30' piece of string or a measuring tape and have one person hold it at electrical inlet height and another person hold the other end to see how far you can reach with it. You want to make sure that you can reach even into the farthest corner of every room in the house with the hose, taking into account any large pieces of furniture in the room. Look for centrally located areas or places like hallways where you can reach several rooms from one inlet.

If you are still in the building and planning process please feel free to stop in with a copy of your blue prints and we will help you decide where you would like to place your inlets.

Which type of inlet to choose:

There are two different types of inlet to choose from. The most basic inlet is a Standard Inlet. A standard inlet is provably the easiest inlet to install and recommend for homes that have little to no carpeting. With a standard inlet you have the option of using a power nozzle but you will need to have an electric hose that has an 8' pigtail of cord coming off the end of it. Keep in mind when installing these inlets that you should try to be within 8' of an electrical inlet if you would like to use a power nozzle.

The second type of inlet is what we call a Supervalve or an Electric Valve. The electric valve has is the perfect choice for a home that has a lot of carpeting and will be using a power nozzle. The electric valve has the electricity needed to run the power nozzle directly connected into the inlet allowing the convenience of being able to plug everything in all at once.
